MACH Members Advocate on the Hill to Protect Home Care

Last week, MACH President, Valerie Noblitt, Director of Home Care Services, Citizens Memorial along with Sarah Hanak, Chief Nursing Officer, Citizens Memorial; MACH Vice-President Shonda Young, CEO, VNA of SEMO; MACH member Angela Huff, Forvis Mazars; MACH Executive Director, Carol Hudspeth; and other Missouri advocates had the honor of meeting with Representative Jason Smith, Chairman of the House Ways & Means Committee and Representative Eric Burlison along with team members in Senator Josh Hawley, Representative Ann Wagner and Representative Bob Onder’s offices to discuss crucial issues affecting home care and hospice along with advocating for H.R.5142 – the Home Health Stabilization Act of 2025.

We are grateful for the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue with our elected leaders!

A tremendous amount of gratitude goes out to these MACH Board and MACH members who traveled to Washington DC to advocate on behalf of the home care industry for continued access to home care services and urged Congress to work together to protect Americans’ right to receive care at home.

Advocates focused on four key issues during their congressional meetings:

  • Protecting home health care by preventing dangerous payment cuts

  • Safeguarding the Medicare Hospice Benefit by ensuring hospice remains a separate, holistic managed care model outside of Medicare Advantage

  • Expanding telehealth access across many care-at-home services

  • Supporting robust Medicaid HCBS funding to strengthen community-based care

Please continue to reach out to all of Missouri's delegation on these important home care issues!
